    Porcelain Veneers

Change your smile more easily than ever with porcelain veneers.  Veneers are thin layers of tooth colored porcelain material that are bonded to your teeth to change their appearance.  The color, size, shape, spacing, and even alignment of your teeth can be changed with veneers.  They are placed with very little removal of tooth structure and result in a totally natural look.

Porcelain veneers may be your answer to obtain the beautiful flawless smile that you’ve been wanting if you have any of the following:

    –      Crooked teeth

    –      Misshaped teeth

    –      Discolored or stained teeth

    –      Oddly sized teeth (too big or too small)

    –      Unwanted or uneven spaces

    –      Worn or chipped teeth

    “Instant Orthodontics” with Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers, also referred to as “instant orthodontics,” are a fast and effective alternative to traditional braces for adult patients who have always wanted straighter teeth but didn’t want to endure the discomfort and years of treatment. With veneers, crooked teeth can be straightened in just a few office visits.

Our dentists use veneers to do “instant orthodontics” by altering the shape and alignment of your teeth. Even significantly crooked teeth can be corrected. Since veneers are easy to customize, the resulting correction is completely natural.

What does getting porcelain veneers involve?

Veneers typically require two office visits and little or no anesthesia.  At the first visit, the teeth are prepared by light buffing and surface shaping. This removes a small amount of the front surface of the teeth to allow space for the porcelain.  Then an impression of the teeth are taken and a color (shade) chosen by you and the dentist. The impression is sent a dental laboratory where the veneers are fabricated.

On the second visit, the teeth are cleansed with special liquids that allow the dentist to achieve a durable bond. Next, bonding cement is placed between the veneer and tooth and a special light beam is used to set and harden the bond so that the veneer stays in place.  The result is a durable and beautiful restoration that functions just like your natural teeth and with proper care will last for many years.
